As a Legal Assustant, you will perform the administrative functions related to the disclosure of documents, statements and other information in the possession of the police regarding general disclosure, in particular child protection cases, medical advice, antisocial behaviour and accommodation, etc. We employ approximately 2,000 police officers in areas such as finance, communications, crime scene investigations, human resources, data entry, answering machine and crime analysis, to name a few – all of whom play a key role in providing an effective police service. www.southyorkshire.police.uk/sign-up/join-team-syp/diversity-in-the-force/ Our police officers work in IT, finance, administration, auto repair shops, force control room, people services and corporate communications, to name a few, who work side by side with their colleagues. Like any British police force, Humberside Police is a busy place. We serve communities in four counties – Hull, East Ridings, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. In addition to our officers, there are many other roles within our force that are often invisible, but that perform some of the most important tasks for our communities. Call managers who respond to emergency calls, detectives who investigate crimes, and criminal justice teams who struggle to achieve fair results are just a few examples. Our 999 and 101 call centers handle nearly half a million calls a year.

From low-level antisocial unrest to serious crime – and everything in between – we are often the public`s first and last resort service. Applicants must meet the minimum requirement criteria for a verifiable history, which must be considered for those applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. This role requires a minimum verifiable history of 3/5 years, and successful completion of a recruitment examination process is a prerequisite for employment with South Yorkshire Police. Completion dates are unlikely to be extended, except in exceptional circumstances, and should be done with the permission of the human resources manager, recruitment manager and supervisor of the position.
